Throughout life, there always comes a time when you think to yourself that you would like to make a little extra money on the side. Having a side income is so useful as you can use this towards your yearly holidays, paying off any credit cards you may have, buying your first home and so on.

There are many ways to make some extra money on the side, you can start up your own blog, find a second job, work evenings, freelance, sell products that you have made yourself and more – think creatively as any talent you have, chances are you could make some money out of it.

Below we look into three ways to make some extra money on the side.

Find a second job

So many people turn to a second job to earn extra money each month. Depending on your current hours, you can work in the evenings or on one of the weekend days. Your second job could be based on anything you are passionate about, you could coach a sport you love, teach a musical instrument, work in a bar, help with e waste disposal or tutor children for their exams if you speak another language.

Run your own blog

Have you considered running your own blog? Blogs are a great way to make a side income as you can generate your earnings through affiliate links, display ads, sponsored posts, and competitions. When you first start a blog, you won’t instantly make money but the more you publish and the more your views go up, the more opportunities you will have to make money. For example, a brand may contact you to advertise one of their products. Creating a blog has also never been easier with a lot of companies launching drag-and-drop builders that you can use to create your site. If you still don’t feel confident enough to use one, you can use a freelancer or if your budget allows an agency.

Sell products you have made yourself

Are you a talented artist? You may be good with your DIY and can make birdhouses. Essentially, is there a product that you can make yourself and sell to others to make some money on the side? If you are an artist, you could sell the paintings you have done, if you are a photographer, you could sell your landscapes – if you are talented at your craft, there will be people out there willing to spend money on it.

As you can see there are a whole plethora of ways you can make some extra money on the side. Our advice would be to try one of the above ways, see if it works for you and then try another – with a quick Google, you’ll also see many more methods that you can take advantage of.
