Small Business Gift Guide UK 2024 (Unique and Affordable)
It’s been a rough few years for independent retailers, so it’s a great idea to shop small wherever possible.
There are so many reasons to shop with small businesses, which include:
- Directly supporting an individual instead of a larger corporation
- Spending money in your local communities
- It’s usually a better choice for the environment, as many small businesses have localised supply chains and a smaller overall carbon footprint
- Small businesses value each and every customer, and their customer service tends to be top notch!

Products from small businesses tend to be more unique too! If you’re looking for an unusual gift, stocking filler or secret santa present this year, by shopping small you can ensure your gift will stand out from the rest.
I’ve included five of my current favourite small businesses, and a few of these items are on my own Christmas list this year (for any relatives reading, this is a heavy hint…!)

1. Cute desk essentials by Katnipp Studios
I have followed Catherine’s small business diaries series on Youtube for years and love to see the behind the scenes work that goes in to running a creative, family run company!
Katnipp is primarily a stationery company but they also sell glass tumblers, plushies and clothing items too, all featuring Catherine’s adorable kawaii illustrations.
There have been some really fun launches this year at Katnipp, but I think the the Christmas Pink Coquette range might just be my favourite yet! How cute is cinnamon the reindeer! Some of my favourite Katnipp products include:
Catherine’s characters make regular appearances throughout each of her seasonal collections, and it’s really satisfying to watch the journey from product development right through to launch day. I definitely recommend subscribing to the Katnipp youtube channel if you haven’t already!
2. Pokemon themed wax melts from Miauzilla
I recently created an advent calendar for my brother and his boyfriend in the lead up to their wedding, and I bought some of these adorable wax melts from Etsy to include as one of their gifts, as they are Pokemon mad!
I opted for Evie and Mew themed wax melts, but there are a range of pokemon characters to choose from; some of my favourites include Firey Flare and Friendly Skies, and there are also themed linen and room sprays on offer too!

The Bermondsey Candle Co. is a fantastic London based small business, set up by a set of triplet brothers. The brothers hand pour each of the candles using a vegan soy wax to give high quality and long burn times.
For the holiday season they have created three exclusive festive scents; Festive Spice, Lapland Pines and Precious Presents, as well as a range of scents perfect for every season. The Honey and Tobacco candle sounds like the perfect smokey scented gift for a few of the men in your life!

4. A Macaron Handbag Gift Box from Cakery Wonderland
If you know someone with a sweet tooth, I have the perfect gift idea that they will have never seen before.
Cakery Wonderland have created luxury hand crafted handbag gift boxes, filled with 16 delicate macarons. The macarons come in a range of flavours, which are all delicious. You can choose from standard macarons, or opt for the festive box, featuring Christmas motifs with a sprinkle of shimmer.

If you’re looking for an educational gift for your children this year, and are looking to support a small business, look no further than Voxblock.
