Grab a Free Pass to work at these cool Coworking Spaces in London

If you are a freelancer, or spend time working remotely, you might want to change up your workspace.

Sure, working at home can be nice, wearing pajama bottoms all day and enjoying lie ins. However, balance is key, and sometimes you need to get out and about, to meet new people and switch things up!

With energy prices rising at an alarming rate, and many of us spending our days a little more isolated than pre-pandemic times, I thought it might be the right time to share some of the best locations for coworking in London. Best of all, every location on this list is free to try, and some of them even throw in complimentary refreshments, too.

So if you’re looking for a change of scenery on a budget, I have you covered.

Why is coworking beneficial?

It can be isolating to work from home all week, especially for freelancers or self employed people who lack a 9-5 routine.

Getting out of the house and working alongside other people can spark motivation, whilst you spend time away from the TV and any other distractions.

How is a coworking space different to a local cafe?

The main differences include:

  • Free networking events, happy hours and workshops
  • Some venues offer free tea and coffee
  • An opportunity to connect with people that have also sought out coworking
  • Access to facilities such as meeting rooms, private offices or locations to shoot content
  • You don’t feel bad hogging a table in a cafe all day while nursing your one cuppa!

6 Coworking Spaces offering Free Trials and Day Passes

Many coworking spaces, although requiring paid membership, offer free trials or day passes to give you a feel for the place before committing.

This is perfect if you are looking to invest in purchasing a membership, but also great if you want to vary your location and mix it up.

And Co Life

And Co members get unlimited access to hot desks & meeting rooms in 200+ venues across London. There is complimentary tea or coffee on arrival at many of the coworking venues too!

And Co memberships offer reasonably priced access to their coworking spaces, with one day passes costing just a fiver for two days access, and a monthly pass priced at £20 for unlimited bookings.

They are currently offering a 14 day free trial, which is perfect to give the membership a try before making any big commitments. The referral scheme seems sweet too. Refer friends and colleagues, and both of you receive a free month’s access!

The website has a search function which allows you to search and filter depending on your preferences (for example you can search for venues offering freebie beverages). Plus, there are social events in the evenings such as workshops, masterclasses, networking events, and post work happy hours for those looking to make new connections.

This coworking space looks like really great value for money, and the paid membership is affordable too, especially if you refer some mates. And Co gets a thumbs up from me.

Co Work Mo

Co Work Mo are a platform for remote workers to book spaces at a range of coffee shops, bars and coworking spaces across the UK.

Co Work Mo are running a 30 day free trial where you can access all the offers at their partnering work spaces, such as free hot desk day passes and discounted food and drink. After your 30 day free trial, membership costs £4.99 per month.

Based in the heart of London’s design district at Greenwich Peninsula, switch it up and spend a day working at Bureau. Book a free hot desk day pass and you’ll get access to complimentary tea and coffee, and access to 4 lounge areas, members only restaurants, and more.

The venue is dog friendly too, so expect to see plenty of furry friends throughout the day.

Day passes cost £15 per day from 8am – 8pm, and include free hot drinks.

The Coffice at The Brew

The Brew, based in Shoreditch, is a coworking space for paying members. However, they do have a coworking space known as ‘The Coffice’, which is completely free to use all day.

With access to super-fast 1Gb internet and plug sockets at every table, this relaxed cafe style venue is perfect for remote workers!

There are no memberships or contracts, it’s just a free space for you to set up camp all day.

Work Play

Work Play had an excellent free day pass offer, but this has now changed to a £15 charge (which is refundable credit if you sign up as a member). I’ve kept this on the list though as with the credit it could be worth considering if you live locally.

The location is very modern and bright, with large windows and plenty of space to set up camp. There’s speedy wifi and free barista quality tea and coffee selection available.

Work Play offer free socialising events too, including after work drinks and speed networking, so this could be a great opportunity to get to know people if you are missing the office chats.

Work and Play is located near Finsbury Park.
