The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea, One Aldwych

Buckle up for a journey into pure imagination and indulge in this spectacular afternoon tea based on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.

I was lucky enough to try this afternoon tea several years ago and it was delightful! Expect creative theming and scrumptious sweets, including scones with ‘snozberry’ jam, mini candy floss, and ‘hair toffee’ mousse. A fabulously themed afternoon tea for both kids, and big kids at heart.

This afternoon tea costs £70pp, or £50 for children under 12.

The Chocolate Cocktail Club

The Chocolate Cocktail Club is the number one destination for chocolate lovers, with an entire menu dedicated to chocolate in all its forms. 

Enjoy a chocolate inspired afternoon tea, washed down with a hot chocolate or a chocotini chocolate cocktail! You can also opt to switch your strawberry jam for nutella to top your warm scones if you haven’t had your fill of cocoa.

The Chocolate Cocktail club afternoon tea is available on Tuesday’s and Friday’s, and be sure to peruse their huge chocolate cocktail menu if you fancy a pre-tea tipple; the Bountyful Martini and Clockwork Orange look particularly delicious.

This afternoon tea costs £25pp with a hot drink (hot chocolate, tea or coffee), or £32pp for the chocotini or a glass of prosecco.

Pop into the National Gallery restaurant ‘Ochre’ to enjoy a chocolate afternoon tea, followed by a wander through the gallery admiring the art on display. The perfect London day out!

The Lavergne Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Ochre is inspired by ‘The Lavergne Family Breakfast’ painting by Jean-Etienne Liotard (1702–1789), depicting a woman and child enjoying cups of chocolate and coffee. 

Along with savoury treats, enjoy a range of incredibly chocolatey desserts, including chocolate scones with chocolate & hazelnut ganache, glazed dark chocolate brownie, and a white chocolate tart.

Participate in a 4 hour, hands on workshop crafting a delectable Valrhona chocolate and raspberry Torte, and a dozen hazelnut truffles to take home and enjoy. 

After you’ve finished creating your masterpieces, sit down to enjoy a quaint french afternoon tea with a glass of champagne.

This experience seems quite reasonable considering it’s both a workshop and afternoon tea combined. They host full day baking masterclasses too!
